Job Summary This position supports Ryder's culture of Continuous Improvement by applying methods to enhance operations. The engineer will identify and implement data-driven improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost, leveraging analytics, engineering, and lean tools. The role involves interfacing across all levels of the organization and reports to the Lead Engineer or CI Manager. Key Responsibilities Collect and analyze data; map processes; identify gaps; recommend and implement improvements; develop continuous improvement plans. Manage CI projects, support certifications, and automation initiatives; collaborate with management and clients. Apply engineering and lean methodologies; train employees in CI and quality principles; optimize layouts and workflows. Facilitate value stream mapping and Kaizen events; coach teams on lean practices. Report progress and recommend strategies for inventory and supply chain improvements. Additional Responsibilities Design and monitor quality management systems; support regulatory compliance; perform QA functions for expansions. Skills and Qualifications Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships across organizational levels. Self-motivated, flexible, highly organized, and capable of multitasking. Proficiency in MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); experience with PowerBI or Tableau; SQL skills. Knowledge of engineering tools, lean methods, warehouse design, and automation solutions. Education and Experience Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 3+ years. Preferred certifications include Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ISO/QMS, APICS, or supply chain certifications. Travel None required.
