The Ad Data Management team, based in Seattle, is responsible for building an analytics platform that enables business insights to our customers. We deal with one of the world’s largest product catalog, handle billions of requests a day with plans to grow it by order of magnitude. We are looking for a highly motivated, top notch engineer to revamp existing systems and build new ones from the ground up. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in at least some of the following areas: building distributed high scale systems, building and scaling very large data processing platforms using distributed computing technologies such as Map/Reduce, Spark, transactional systems and data persistence using dynamoDB/RDBMS, algorithm development for efficient scheduling, sampling, queuing, classification, etc. As an experienced member of the team, in this role, you will: - Drive the technical direction of Amazon Advertising core analytics platform's offerings and solutions, working with latest technologies. - Design business critical services, code and own what you build architecturally and operationally. - Mentor and assist in the career development of junior engineers. - Assist with recruiting and hiring. - Decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 3 years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
