Job Title:

Facilities Manager

Summary:

As a Facilities Manager for the US, you’ll lead innovation in vendor management, procurement, safety inspections, contractor coordination, and maintenance management for our 3-building campus. Our ideal candidate is passionate about safety and the well-being of the workforce and the building. Responsibilities:

People Management:

  • Ensure that all employees receive ongoing training to ensure compliance with the Company's requirements and policies at all levels.
  • Recommend personnel actions (hire/fire/promotions/increases).
  • Use well-documented corrective disciplinary measures in a timely manner as applicable.
  • Ensure direct and indirect reports receive frequent feedback on performance, including an assessment of performance in the first 90 days and a formal performance review on an annual basis thereafter.
  • Maintain an environment of development and recognition.
  • Coordinate personnel, contractor, and vendor scheduling to ensure proper staffing and facilitate the efficient receipt and distribution of products and materials at the facility, ensuring productivity and cost-effectiveness. Monitor attendance, tardiness, and other factors that impact productivity.
  • Demonstrate inspirational leadership.
  • Aid or coverage in other departments.
  • Coach and train colleagues to ensure high performance from teams.
  • Leads a team that provides operational expertise in contracted services while providing hands-on execution management of operations.
  • Translating the organizational policy into operational management.
  • Maintain/create best practices for vendors/contractors
  • Build/develop contractor/vendor relationships/partnerships

Operations

  • Ensure proper and efficient operations within the overall framework and in accordance with budgeted guidelines.
  • Manage building facilities, ensuring that you are adhering to proper safety standards
  • In partnership with Finance, manages a budget and assists in the design of improvements to optimize financial performance by creating optimized partnerships with vendors/contractors
  • Annual budget preparations, presentation, and implementation.
  • Ensures compliance with Bleckmann's standards of operation, always including safety standards and Bleckmann’s Business Conduct Policy.
  • Closely monitoring 'cost versus revenue' flows and adjusting if necessary.
  • Close cooperation and guidance of the local project organization.
  • Responsible for all building maintenance and repairs
  • You are co-responsible for matters in the areas of QEHS, facility, and security.
  • Effective communication to operations
  • Work with the VP on structure, strategy, vision, and the future of the site
  • Coordinate projects/maintenance with the operations team
  • Ensure building codes, local regulations, and federal regulations are being followed

Inventory Control

  • Ensure that the inventory of building maintenance supplies is being managed.
  • Ensure that buildings have proper safety inventory in place

Safety, Sanitation, and Security

  • Promotes and maintains safety awareness programs. Attends safety meetings; ensures all required safety measures are in place; and that the facility follows all federal and state regulations.
  • Ensures that all subordinates, vendors, and contractors meet and follow safety training requirements.
  • Follows rigid housekeeping and sanitation policies/practices by applying the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean, and orderly facility.
  • Maintain and improve security systems and processes
  • Manage sanitation schedules/vendors

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management and operations, including the use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems
  • Ability to effectively schedule and maintain vendors/contractors
  • Ability to train and enforce company safety programs as they relate to OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Computer P/C and software knowledge
  • Solid command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate with a diverse workforce.
  • Savvy interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and Bleckmann support staff.
  • Experience with permits and building regulations
  • Experience in negotiating and maintaining contracts with vendors

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5-6 years of facilities management experience
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
